Ahead of the premiere of Netflix’s Calabasas Confidential, the term “nepo baby” was thrown around a lot. Now, the season’s famous celebrity kids, Raine Michaels, Jodie Woods, and Preston Pippen, are shedding some light on what it means to be able to tell their own story.
The trio, who chatted with Swooon alongside other members of the Calabasas Confidential cast, took us inside their first solo experience on reality TV. The series, which premiered on May 29, follows “legacy kids, ambitious newcomers, and content creators” returning to their parents’ estates after college.
“I feel like, with social media, people get things so confused,” Jodie, sister of Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum Jordyn Woods, told Swooon. “[People assume] you do this every day, or this is who you are. People swear they know.” She added, “I just can’t wait for people to see our real personalities and fall in love with who we really are at our core.”

Preston, who’s the son of NBA star Scottie Pippen and The Real Housewives of Miami alum Larsa Pippen, explained, “Having famous families, people just see the cover [and] the last names.”
People are quick to say, “You’re a nepobaby,” according to Jodie, without seeing the work they put in behind the scenes. Calabasas Confidential has allowed them to show off more of themselves than ever before.
For Raine, daughter of Poison singer Bret Michaels, “it definitely means a lot” to make a name for herself. However, she explained, “I don’t necessarily have any ill feelings towards being associated with my dad because I am so proud of him and so happy for all of his success.”
