America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders returns with seven new episodes on June 16. Megan McElaney was back as a fifth-year veteran and group leader, but off the field, she was also going through some changes in her personal life.
In the final episode of Season 3, Megan dealt with knowing her career as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader was coming to an end. She had already decided she’d be hanging up her uniform after the 2025 season. At the same time, things changed in her relationship with her boyfriend, Alex Blaszyk.

Are Megan McElaney and Alex Blaszyk still together?
No, Megan and Alex are no longer together. Fans first started speculating about their split on Reddit in December 2025 when they noticed that Megan had deleted photos from Alex from her Instagram page. She confirmed the breakup in Episode 7 of America’s Sweethearts Season 3.
Alex and Megan started dating in December 2022 and had bought a home together on Valentine’s Day 2025. Cameras captured Megan in tears as she moved into a new place a week after the breakup. While the exact date of the split wasn’t confirmed, it happened after Thanksgiving and before Christmas.
Why did Megan McElaney and Alex Blaszyk split?
Megan opened up about the reason for the breakup on America’s Sweethearts.
“I know this job is so demanding of our time, and I felt that I wasn’t there enough for him,” she admitted. “Any moment I had, I was trying to be intentional and put [him] first. I think I just didn’t take care of myself in that way.”
While Megan said she “literally thought [Alex] was [her] person,” she realized that she “lost [herself] along the way” while trying to make their relationship work.
Who is Alex Blaszyk?
Alex works as a therapy sales specialist at Edwards Lifesciences, per LinkedIn. He’s held the position in Dallas since 2022. Prior to that, he worked at Integra Lifesciences from 2022 to 2025.
Alex is a Westmore College graduate with a degree in business and economics. He was a Division I baseball pitcher for the school and now works as a coach at POP Athletics in Texas.
