Keith Colburn is a staple on Deadliest Catch. He’s been on the show since Season 3, documenting his life as a crab fisherman aboard the F/V Wizard.

But his career wouldn’t be possible without the help of his wife, Florence Colburn. Keith and Florence have been together for about 40 years, and they make an incredible team on and off the boat. Scroll down to learn more about Florence and her relationship with the fisherman.

What does Keith Colburn’s wife do for a living?

Florence helps run the off-boat aspects of the F/V Wizard. Crab fishing involves a great deal of administrative work that lasts year-round, not just in the fishing season. Per a job description, which was written back in 2008, Florence helps balance the books and the boat’s schedule, among other administrative tasks.

Prior to taking on this career, Florence, who is from France, worked in glacial geology and climatology. She gave this up to become a fisherman’s wife.

How did Keith Colburn meet his wife?

Keith and Florence met in Lake Tahoe. Per the F/V Wizard crew bios, “Florence admits to chasing down Keith, who back then was a rather untamed, cantankerous fisherman.”

While it’s unclear exactly when they met, the 2008 bio revealed that they crossed paths “over 20 years ago,” which means they’ve now been together for about 40 years.

The couple has “weathered the highs and lows of crabbing, as well as the long extended absences while Keith was working in Alaska, sometimes for months at a time,” and “share a special bond as partners in both life and business.”

Does Keith Colburn have kids?

Yes, Keith and Florence are parents to their two children, son Caelan and daughter Sienna. Caelan was born in May 1996, followed by Sienna two years later in December 1998.

Caelan is a Southern Methodist University graduate and now lives in Miami, per LinkedIn. He is the senior manager of special project groups for Kaseya, an IT management company. Meanwhile, Sienna graduated from law school at the University of Pennsylvania in May.
