Love Island USA stars Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen have called it quits on their romance.
On July 22, People reported that the second-place Season 7 stars “decided to part ways” just after their one-year anniversary of leaving the villa. The duo didn’t end the show in an exclusive relationship last year, though several weeks after the finale, the two confirmed that they made their relationship official via TikTok video.
Since then, they made numerous public appearances together and confirmed on multiple occasions that their relationship was still holding strong. Most recently, Nic appeared in Olandria’s 28th birthday weekend vlog, which was shared on July 12.

“The distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection. They still remain close friends. They share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible,” People’s source shared.
Nic and Olandria coupled up when both were seemingly dumped after the show’s Casa Amor twist, but production brought them back and gave them the option of staying in the villa together. “Honestly, waiting all the way until the end, it was so beautiful, because now we have all these beautiful edits leading up to that final moment,” Olandria told Swooon after the finale. “Honestly, it played out just the way it needed to.”
Last month, Olandria also opened up to Cosmopolitan about her then-relationship with Nic. “We don’t monetize our relationship or put it on display,” she said. “If you genuinely like spending quality time with somebody, it shouldn’t involve a camera every two seconds. We enjoy each other’s presence and do what normal people do: go out, have fun, and get to know each other. We go to dinner and watch movies at the actual movie theater. We hang out at his house in Florida. We actually took a ride on his dad’s bike. He literally got his drone and recorded me and Nic on the motorcycle. It was so cute.”
She continued, “When it comes to me and Nic — when you really care about something — you keep it very sacred and close to you.”
Olandria explained that the public’s interest in their relationship “kind of creeps [her] out.” She noted, “I’m never that invested in someone’s relationship, and I’m not living for the internet. I don’t always post what people want me to or always do what people want me to do. Why does it matter if me and Nic are together? Even when we were at Coachella, people in the comments were like, ‘Oh, I just needed proof that they saw each other this week.’ Why are you so invested in people that don’t know you?”
