‘Let’s Marry Harry’: Why Did Harry Lie About Sleeping With Amber? He Explains
What To Know
- Harry Jowsey and Amber Mozo had sex during Episode 5 of Let’s Marry Harry, which sparked speculation among the other contestants.
- When confronted, Harry lied about sleeping with Amber because she had asked him to keep their moment private.
- Harry defended his decision to Swooon.
Harry Jowsey made plenty of connections within his pool of 20 fiancées during the first seven episodes of Let’s Marry Harry. That said, one intimate moment with Amber Mozo has had everyone in the house — and those of us watching at home — talking.
Following the first drop of Let’s Marry Harry episodes, the Too Hot to Handle star sat down with Swooon to defend how he handled the season’s biggest scandal. (Warning: Episodes 1-7 spoilers ahead!)
So here’s the tea: During Episode 5, after Juliana Melchor was sent home, Amber confessed, “Watching him entertain that relationship with Juliana made me stressed… He was throwing around crazy words.” She then went into his room for a one-on-one conversation about the elimination, which quickly turned into a makeout. He then lifted her up and walked into the bathroom, telling her, “I’m hiding… There’s no cameras.”

Based on the audio alone, it was clear that Harry and Amber started having sex in the shower. As Amber put it, “You gotta drive the car before you buy it.” Soon after they began, Sam Kruse came into Harry’s room and quickly caught on to what Harry and Amber were doing. She asked Dannelle Davidson and Emma Piotrowski, “Guys, am I tripping or are they in the shower together right now?”
While Sam, Dannelle, and Emma all correctly assumed that Harry and Amber were getting it on, when Sam asked Harry if he and Amber had sex, he lied, telling her that they did not. Why? Amber asked him to keep their intimate moment private.
With only five women left, Harry found himself between a rock and a hard place. Or, in this case, a shower wall. Looking back on that choice, Harry told Swooon, “You know, that’s a difficult one, and I think I was doing a lot of mental gymnastics with that because Amber did ask me to not say anything. So I didn’t want to upset her by telling everyone our business.”
That said, he understood how his lie affected the rest of the cast, especially Sam, who lost a lot of trust with Harry that day, based on her gut instinct. “It was hard,” he explained, “because you have to lie to someone to protect someone else, but then also that kinda takes away from the other person’s experience.”
So, does Harry regret his choice? He shared with Swooon, “That was a really difficult thing, but at the end of the day, if someone says don’t tell anyone that we slept together, then I’ll just have to respect that.”
