“Big Brother does a good job with casting because, boy, that man was made for me,” Big Brother Season 28 star Lyric Medeiros told Swooon after her August 6 eviction.
This season of Big Brother, Lyric fell for her fellow houseguest Rome Seymour just two days into the competition. Becoming a public showmance definitely put a target on their backs, but if you’d ask either star, it was worth it. Now that they’ve both been evicted from the Big Brother house — after confessing their love on camera — Lyric revealed to Swooon the moment she knew Rome was the guy for her and an off-camera confession that sealed their showmance.
Taking us back to the moment Rome said “I love you,” Lyric revealed that she felt the same way “1000%.” She explained, “I actually wanted to say ‘I love you’ before he said ‘I love you’ because the connection we had was just indescribable. It’s something I’ve never felt before. When you know, you know. When you’re in a situation in a house like that where you can’t trust anyone, and everyone’s kind of out to get you, when you feel safe and protected by someone, you hold on to them tight, and that’s exactly what we did.”
According to Lyric, she also confessed his biggest secret to him. “I told him my biggest secret, that was being an attorney,” she explained, “and so I hope that that showed him trust from the get-go.”

Looking back at that conversation, she revealed, “When I was in the house the first week after Ashley was renominated, I broke down, and I started crying because I thought about my mom, and she’s my best friend, and I literally can’t wait to talk to her. But Rome helped me like a baby, and he just held me while I was crying, and he said, ‘I’m not going anywhere until you feel better, until you stop crying.’ And in that moment, I was like, ‘This is a guy that I want in my life. This is someone I could see forever with because he held me, and he was not going to leave my side.'”
She continued, “That’s the moment when I told him I was an attorney. I was like, ‘I have to get something off my chest. If I’m gonna leave this game, if I’m gonna do this game with you, I want you to know me for who I am, full through and through. If I’m gonna get to know you and we’re gonna actually do this as a romantic thing, I want you to know me through and through.’ Being an attorney is a huge part of my life, and so I told him that.”
Looking forward to life outside of the BB house with Rome, she explained, “He’s just such a class act. I literally am so blessed to have met him because we’re so similar and have so many similar values, and we knew that from the get-go. We talked about our parents the first time we met. That was our first conversation. I was like, ‘How’s your relationship with your parents? How long have your parents been together? Do you want the same relationship that your parents have?’ And we’re so similar. His parents have been married for over 30 years. Mine over 28 years, and he wants to find the same. He has a sister as well. I have a brother. We’re just so similar in so many ways, and we knew that from the get-go.”
The season’s biggest showmance may have left the house, but it’s clear that their relationship isn’t ending anytime soon!
