The Busby quints are all grown up! In a new update from Adam and Danielle Busby from the TLC series Outdaughtered, the reality TV parents revealed that they have decided to homeschool their five youngest daughters. Now, they’ve revealed the reason why their quints won’t be attending a public middle school.
Reality TV viewers may remember Adam and Danielle as they raised their family on Outdaughtered. The series followed their quintuplet daughters from birth to age 8 as they grew up alongside their older daughter, Blayke. Since the series concluded in 2024, Adam and Danielle have continued to create content about parenting the quints with their podcast, More Than Reality.
On August 25, Adam and Danielle posted a photo of all five quints — Ava, Olivia, Hazel, Parker, and Riley, who are now 11 years old — posing for their first day of sixth grade, revealing that school would look a little different this year. Danielle wrote, “Bare feet, comfy clothes, and a late morning start to school… I think we will be enjoying our new adventure!!”
On their podcast, the couple revealed that the quints would be attending a Co-Op homeschool, where they will learn at home, with the opportunity to take some subjects in more of a classroom setting. The couple shared, “After years in public school, prayer, research, and a lot of honest conversations, we’ve decided to try something new for sixth grade. From academic struggles and dyslexia support, to protecting innocence in middle school, to giving our girls flexibility and staying together — this wasn’t a quick decision.”
Defending their choice, which some parents find controversial, Adam claimed, “If you look at the statistics of homeschooled kids, they’re more adjusted to just interactions.” He pointed towards conversations he’s had with homeschooled kids versus kids who have attended public schools, claiming that the homeschooled kids are more likely to make eye contact with him.
While their oldest daughter Blayke, now 15, still attends a public high school, they took into consideration each of the quintuplets’ unique learning needs and questioned whether to split them up for this new chapter. As the parents put it, all five quints wanted to stay together and weren’t “mature enough” yet for middle school.

According to Danielle, middle school brings forward a phase where external pressure tops academics. “You’re faced with so much more that the kids that age don’t see academics. They see, ‘What do I look like? Who’s my friend? What sport am I gonna play? Do they like me? They don’t like my shoes. They made fun of me.'” She added, “I’m trying to say, ‘Let me help you with your academics first, and [let] us coast in the social.”
