‘Married at First Sight’s Cam & Michelle Share Update on Family Plans & More

Michelle Le and Cameron Mitchell have been enjoying married life since Married at First Sight Season 20 ended last year. At the recent reunion, fans discovered that the couple was the only one still together. They also shared major life updates, including Cam officially proposing to his already-wife and an upcoming move to California. They also opened up about their plans to start a family via adoption or surrogacy after Michelle’s hysterectomy.

The couple told Swooon about what the past year has been like for their relationship, as well as what’s coming down the line. “[It’s] a lot going on, but it’s been a great, great year,” Cam said. Shortly after filming ended, he got a new ring for his wife and gave her a formal proposal, after meeting at the altar for the first time in September 2025.

Michelle wasn’t expecting Cam to propose as soon as he did, even though they’d discussed it. “I thought Cameron was going to do it after the show came out because I was like, ‘Well, people aren’t really supposed to know about us anyways. He won’t propose for another year,'” she recalled. “But when he proposed to me, it was actually on Thanksgiving Day. I could not believe it. I was so excited, and it was just the perfect day, too, because then we saw all of my family, and he did it in the spot that was really special to me.”

The video of the proposal was shared at the reunion. Michelle told Swooon, “It was the same spot where we had our fantasy date, and so it just meant the world, and I thought he did a great job picking out the ring, too.”

They also re-did their honeymoon once the cameras stopped rolling. “We actually had an amazing trip up to Canada,” Cam said. “We went to Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec, and yeah, we we also got to go to Hawaii. So we’ve been doing a lot of traveling in the past year.”

During that time, they’ve continued learning about each other as newlyweds. “I learned how strong and tough Michelle is,” Cam said. “She had a really intense surgery, and even after that, she was still positive just every day. She never complained about all the pain she was in. It was really kind of inspiring to see how tough she is and how strong she is. Made me love her even more.”

Michelle pointed out how attentive Cam is as a husband. “He’s always so curious,” she explained. “That curiosity that we had in the beginning when we first met on Married at First Sight has not gone away. It’s just continued. I mean, every day he’s just so interested to know how I’m doing. It makes me feel really special, and it makes me feel really safe, and that’s really important to me because, growing up, I think I was someone that was a bit more anxiously attached, and so just feeling like he’s home to me and he’s safe has just been so amazing.”

Michelle, a 34-year-old project manager, also opened up about how Cam has supported her after she had a hysterectomy post-filming. She had the procedure to remove her uterus earlier this year following about a decade of health issues related to fibroids.

“I think facing the fact that I had to have a hysterectomy was really tough,” Michelle said. “I definitely cried a lot. I think when a woman finds out that she has to lose her uterus, you almost feel like, at least for me, powerless in a way. It’s such an important part of being a woman, or that’s what it feels like. But ever since the surgery, I just feel so much better. There’s been so much relief from it. I was dealing with a lot of anxiety from having fibroids and the symptoms that I was getting. A lot of my inflammation has subsided as well, so I’m feeling so much better, and it was definitely worth it.”

Michelle is so thankful that Cam was by her side through it all. She became emotional talking about having his support. “Before, I was really scared that having a hysterectomy would make it really hard to find a partner because I think a lot of people want kids, and that is make-or-break for having a relationship or getting married. So, to know that Cameron was by my side the whole time and that he still wanted to be with me, of course, it just was really, really special and made me feel a lot better about losing my uterus. If I was single going through it, I think it would have been a lot tougher, a lot scarier.”

The couple is still looking towards adoption or surrogacy, which they explained during the reunion. “We’re gonna start looking into the process in the fall because, from our understanding, it can take a year to two years for this type of thing,” Michelle revealed. “I think it’s a complex process, so we just want to get started right away, since we expect it to take a long time.”

In the shorter term, Michelle and Cam are looking forward to settling into a place together in the Bay Area, where Cam has landed a new basketball coaching job. He said, “I think not having like, oh, this is my place, and this is your place, and actually being able to build a home together, I think that just getting settled in a new place will probably be the rest of the year for us. I’m really looking forward to Michelle getting down here and just building our lives together.”
