‘We Were Liars’ Season 2: See Young & Present Day Sinclair Family Side-by-Side
The summer of the Sinclair sisters is on its way! On May 7, Prime Video revealed the Season 2 cast of We Were Liars, introducing fans to the younger versions of the toxic Sinclair family, including a few familiar faces for romance lovers. (Warning: Season 1 spoilers ahead!)
Season 2 is set to follow Carrie (Mamie Gummer) and Cadence (Emily Alyn Lind) as the last remaining Liar dives deeper into her family’s history. Following some of E. Lockhart‘s Family of Liars, the second season will also look back at the Summer of 1999, when the Sinclair sisters were in high school. As Bess (Candice King) teased during Season 1, “Sometimes I think losing [the Liars] was our punishment, for what we did…”
As of May 2026, young Carrie, Penny (Caitlin FitzGerald), and Bess have been cast as Parker Lapaine, Elysia Roorbach, and Madison Wolfe, respectively. They’re joined by Josh Dallas and Peyton List, who will portray their parents, Harris and Tipper, the younger versions of Season 1’s David Morse and Wendy Crewson. Costa D’Angelo, who was a breakout star of the final season of Tell Me Lies, joins the cast as Lawrence “Pfeff” Pfefferman, a college-age boy who turns the Sinclair sisters’ lives on their heads.

Josh Dallas & David Morse as Harris
This is some flawless casting if we do say so ourselves. Romance lovers know Dallas as Prince Charming/David Nolan in Once Upon a Time. More recently, he has starred in Manifest and voiced featured roles in Zootopia and Zootopia 2, alongside his wife and OUAT costar Ginnifer Goodwin, who played Judy Hopps. To quote one commenter on Prime Video’s cast announcement, “JOSH DALLAS??????? SHAKING”.
Peyton List & Wendy Crewson as Tipper
Yes, there’s another Peyton List! We Were Liars has cast the Mad Men alum as young Tipper, who gets into a whole lot of mess during Family of Liars, so we can only assume List has her work cut out for her as the younger version of Crewson’s Sinclair matriarch in Season 2.
Elysia Roorbach & Caitlin Fitzgerald as Penny
Of course, Cadence’s mom, Penny, has her own secrets, and Elysia Roorbach is ready to reveal them to us this season! Roorbach joins the cast as the younger version of Fitzerald’s character. She’s already made her splash in the industry as Willow Baptiste in The Pitt. Oh, and the 25-year-old actress is also dating The Pitt star Patrick Ball!
Parker Lapaine & Mamie Gummer as Carrie
Caroline “Carrie” Sinclair was the subject of one wild summer back in 1999. Picking up where Gummer and Joseph Zada (Johnny) left off in Season 1, it’s clear that Lapaine’s Carrie may be just as haunted as her older self. At 23, Parker Lapaine is best known for playing Rowena in House of the Dragon.
Madison Wolfe & Candice King as Bess
Another wild resemblance! Wolfe rounds out the young cast as Bess, the younger version of King’s character, who stole the show during Season 1. At 23, Wolfe has already scared us senseless in The Conjuring 2. She also starred in True Detective, which means she could be incredibly helpful in solving the mystery of Cadence’s past.
