It’s not all roses for Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple! The Golden Bachelorette stars are learning more about each other every day and recently realized a new difference in their preferences.

After Vassos and Chapple rang in the new year together, he took to Instagram to reveal their latest incompatibility. He also pointed out that the seemingly mundane disagreement proved that they’re a “real couple.”

“This is how we like our temperatures,” Chapple captioned his Saturday, January 4, Instagram Story post, along with a photo of the couple’s respective thermostats in the front seat of a car. The temperature was set to 63 degrees on one side and 84 degrees on the other, and he made sure to point out that his fiancée was the one with the higher temperature preference.

The mom of four reposted Chapple’s image and added, “Maybe I should steal some of his socks to keep my feet warm in the car.”

The sock reference was related to a video that Vassos posted on Instagram one day earlier. In the clip, she told followers that her new fiancé has “hundreds of pairs of socks” that are “all mismatched,” which she said caused her “great anxiety.”

Chapple and Vassos got engaged during the season finale of The Golden Bachelorette, which aired in November 2024. Since then, they’ve been splitting their time between her home in Maryland and his in Kansas, while also searching for an apartment in New York City where they can spend time when they want to “get away” together.

It turns out that temperature isn’t the only thing these lovebirds disagree on. In December, they appeared on The Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous podcast and opened up their recent fight about electronics.

“Don’t take her cell phone charger,” Chapple revealed. “That’s part of a real conversation, a real relationship, and it was interesting because we had talked about it before and I took it and, oh my gosh, she was like, ‘You do not take my cell phone charger.'” Vassos then jumped in and added, “I did not say it like that.”

However, they insisted that these little arguments won’t end their relationship. “No one’s perfect,” Chapple explained. “We’ve made a commitment, and commitment keeps marriages and relationships together. It does.”

Vassos added that she and Chapple will “100 percent” be together for years to come. “I’m done. I’m done,” she concluded. “This is my man.”
