Who Is ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Star Vanna White’s Boyfriend? Meet John Donaldson
Vanna White appears on Wheel of Fortune every weekday night, but rarely gives viewers a glimpse into what her life is like away from the show. While she’ll sometimes mention her kids or show personal clips from home, the letter turner is fairly private, making her love life elusive to most fans.
Some may not even know that White has been in a relationship with boyfriend John Donaldson since 2012. Although the two have not tied the knot, they are committed to one another and have made their love last for more than a decade. Scroll down to learn more about her man.
What does John Donaldson do?
Donaldson works in construction. In 1987, he founded his own construction company called JDC Construction + Development Group (formerly John R. Donaldson, Inc.) The company is based in California and focuses on “the restoration and rehabilitation of Multifamily properties and now the development of new ground up multifamily projects,” according to its website.
Before venturing out on his own, Donaldson worked as a laborer in the San Fernando Valley. He eventually became the head foreman and started working on homes in the Hollywood Hills, which gave him some celebrity clients.
How did Vanna White meet her boyfriend?
The Wheel of Fortune star was hosting a barbecue in 2012, and Donaldson was brought to the event by one of her friends. After “talking for a long time that night,” the two have been together ever since.

Do Vanna White and John Donaldson have kids?
White and Donaldson do not have children together. However, she has two adult kids from her previous relationship with George Santo Pietro. White and Pietro got married in 1990, welcomed a son, Nicholas, in 1994, and daughter Giovanna in 1997. The exes split in 2002.
Following her split from Pietro, White was in a relationship with Michael Kaye, a California businessman. Although they were engaged, they never tied the knot and split in 2006.
Are Vanna White and John Donaldson getting married?
As of 2023, the lovebirds had no plans to tie the knot. “I mean, we’ve been together 12 years, and I feel like we are married,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “Do we have to get married? No, because we feel comfortable in our relationship. You know what I mean? I know that he’s the one. He knows I’m the one.”
She also admitted that they “don’t really talk about” changing their relationship status to married. However, she teased, “But you never know. I mean, I guess we could, but in my eyes and his eyes, we are married.”
