Are HGTV’s Jonathan Knight & Husband Harley Rodriguez Still Together?
Amid a recent slew of cancellations at HGTV, Jonathan Knight‘s show Farmhouse Fixer has gotten the axe. Of course, he still has plenty to keep him busy with other projects, including New Kids on the Block’s Las Vegas residency.
But what about Knight’s love life? The singer married Harley Rodriguez in 2022, but are they still going strong? Scroll down for updates.
Are Jonathan Knight and Harley Rodriguez still together?
Yes, Knight and Rodriguez are still together. The two met through a mutual friend in 2008 and have made their love last ever since. In 2016, Knight proposed to Rodriguez while they were on a trip to Africa with their moms.
“That’s the funny thing, with two guys it’s always hard,” Knight admitted on Jenny McCarthy‘s SiriusXM show. “Like who proposes? Who asks? And I think that was our problem. I’ve been waiting for him to ask, he’s probably been waiting for me to ask.”
In 2022, they made things official by secretly tying the knot in a small ceremony, although they’ve teased plans for a larger celebration, too.

Knight proved that he and his husband were still together ahead of NKOTB’s Las Vegas residency in June. The guys drove from Los Angeles to Las Vegas together, “The road to Vegas… Literally,” Knight wrote on Instagram. “Me and my guy @jonathanrknight make the trek to our @nkotb #LasVegas Residency at @mgmgrand @dolbytheatre. It was his first time making the iconic drive from LA to LV. It was hot as hell but so are we right.”
When did Jonathan Knight come out?
Knight publicly came out in 2009 after his ex-boyfriend sold pictures of them together to The National Enquirer. At the time, he was already out to his NKOTB bandmates and was already dating Rodriguez.
“It wasn’t something I was hiding,” Knight shared on Lance Bass‘ Frosted Tips podcast. “I mean, I was with Harley. We’d be kissing in public and it just was what it was. And then it was like, ‘No, you have to make a statement, you have to publicly clear the air.'”
Knight also admitted that he never addressed his sexuality before that because his manager told him it would have a negative impact on his career. “He pulled me aside and he was like, ‘If anybody finds out, then your career is over, the New Kids career is over… Sony’s gonna lose money,'” Knight explained. “It was just so much pressure and looking back, that’s a lot of pressure to put on somebody who is just trying to figure out the world themselves.”
Where do Jonathan Knight and Harley Rodriguez live?
Knight and Rodriguez have lived in both Los Angeles and New York City, but moved to a “small farm” in Massachusetts in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Knight thanked his now-husband for “trading in his life” in the big city for the new one they were beginning.
“He has adjusted perfectly to the life we have created and now he’s right at home!” Knight wrote on Instagram. “I adore you @harley.rodriguez to the moon,and back,and back,and back.”
Rodriguez now works as a Barry’s Bootcamp instructor in Boston. He previously dabbled in acting, with his most notable role as Manny Lopez on Sweet Valley High from 1994 to 1997.
