‘Office Romance’ Trailer: Jennifer Lopez & Brett Goldstein Have Steamy Elevator Makeout
Jim and Pam, step aside. Brett Goldstein and Jennifer Lopez are taking over the workplace in their new romantic comedy Office Romance. Now that the trailer has arrived, it’s clear that this is one duo made in rom-com heaven! Did you watch (and rewatch) that elevator kissing scene? We certainly did.
The rom-com pairing the Ted Lasso alum and The Wedding Planner star together has already garnered a lot of attention. It’s clear even Goldstein himself is blown away by JLo’s rom-com return, as he told Swooon, “Every day I come to work to do a rom-com with Jennifer Lopez and this incredible cast, and I expect people to jump out and tell me I’m being pranked.”
With the rom-com renaissance happening, when can we expect Office Romance to hit our screens? Swooon has the latest updates about the release date, trailer, the star-studded cast, and more.
What is Office Romance about?
Lopez plays Jackie, the president and CEO of Air Cruz. She’s no-nonsense when it comes to her business, and she has a strict anti-fraternization policy for all of her employees. However, when a sexy lawyer named Daniel Blanchflower (played by Goldstein) begins working for her, she finds herself wanting to bend the rules. One thing’s for sure: This romance is not safe for work.

Netflix
The Marry Me star recently revealed that Office Romance is a shift for the rom-com veteran. “It’s not the typical JLo rom-com that you are used to, like the sweet wholesomeness,” the actress said on Watch What Happens Live in October 2025. “It’s a little raunchy. It’s like the jokes are little — think more like Knocked Up. You know what I mean? [There’s] Something About Mary.”
Office Romance also marks Goldstein’s first-ever rom-com leading role, and he only wanted JLo as his leading lady. “She’s f**king brilliant is all I can tell you at this point,” the actor told Swooon. “We wrote it for her, me and Joe Kelly.”
He continued, “We wrote it because she’s the best rom-com actor, and day one, I was like, ‘We made the right decision.'”
Is there an Office Romance trailer?
Yes! Netflix released the Office Romance trailer on April 30, teasing a rom-com that is “not safe for work… but so worth the risk.” In the trailer, viewers get their first taste of the leading duo’s palpable chemistry to the tune of Goyte’s “Somewhere Only We Know.” And yes, there is a Grey’s Anatomy-level elevator makeout scene. When will Office Romance be released?
Office Romance will hit Netflix on June 5, without a theatrical release. Filming took place in New York City throughout 2025, so we’re thrilled that the long-awaited “raunchy romantic comedy” will hit our screens sooner rather than later.
Who is in the cast of Office Romance?
Obviously, Lopez and Goldstein are leading the way in Office Romance. The rom-com is also a full circle moment for Lopez and Edward James Olmos, who played Lopez’s onscreen father in the 1997 biopic Selena. Olmos and Lopez will play father and daughter again in Office Romance. Olmos’ character is named Captain Jack Cruz.
The rest of the stacked cast includes Betty Gilpin as Sydney, Tony Hale as George Zein, Bradley Whitford as Peter Vance, Amy Sedaris as Julie Schatz, Rick Hoffman as Carl Gunderson, Will Sasso as Larry, Tony Plana as Francisco Alberto, Roger Bart as William Butten, Jackie Sandler as Caroline, Donald Elise Watkins as Henry, Jodie Whittaker as Lizzy, Natalie Ortega as Heather, Mary Wiseman as Clair, Brian Gallivan as Frederick, Ali Stroker as Maggie, Michelle Hurd as Rachel Goldberg, Scott Seiss as Dave, Lisa Gilroy as Tanya, and Mo Welch as Debbie.
Goldstein wrote the script with Joe Kelly. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Ticket to Paradise director Ol Parker helms Office Romance. Lopez, Goldstein, and Kelly also serve as producers, as well as Andrew Swett, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina. Pamela Thur and Courtney Baxter are executive producers.
