What To Know

  • Prime Video has been releasing weekly sneak peeks of its upcoming series Off Campus.
  • Season 1 is an adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s popular hockey romance novel The Deal.
  • The teasers have introduced key characters, showcased behind-the-scenes moments, and revealed some changes from the book.

Whoever at Prime Video came up with the idea for Off Campus Thursdays, we hope both sides of your pillows are cold every night. Seriously, being blessed with new Off Campus content weekly since last summer — barring the holiday break, which we suppose we’ll let slide — has been nothing short of stellar for fans of Elle Kennedy’s hockey romance book series. Every sneak peek of the adaptation has only made us anticipate it even more, which we didn’t think was possible.

With Off Campus Thursdays back in full swing, we’re going to update this page with every new tease so you don’t miss a single one. We’re also breaking down how some of them tease moments from Kennedy’s The Deal, which fans know by now that Season 1 is based on. (In case you haven’t read it: We’ll see music major Hannah Wells, played by Ella Bright, fake date star college hockey player, Belmont Cameli‘s Garrett Graham.)

Hannah & Garrett’s hair & makeup test

Our first tease, which was posted all the way back in August 2025, shows Hannah teasing Garrett. Bright summed up our reaction with her comment underneath the video: “Ahhhhhhhhhh.”

Core four first look

Garrett isn’t the only leading man in the Off Campus universe. His three teammates and roommates, who eventually get their own books, are also featured in The Deal. The Prime Video adaptation introduced them in a legendary fashion on August 14. In the video, each guy — in full Briar U gear — turns around to face the camera, starting with Jalen Thomas Brooks‘ John Tucker. Antonio Cipriano‘s John Logan is next, followed by Stephen Kalyn‘s Dean Heyward-Di Laurentis. Garrett brings up the rear.

Garrett Graham’s drafts folder

In The Deal, Garrett tells Hannah that she looks good in red, and it seems she’ll take that into account in the adaptation. In the August 21 teaser, Hannah waves at the camera in what appears to be Malone’s, the bar that Briar U students — including the hockey team — frequent. The caption also hints that show Hannah will also be a diehard Directioner, just like her book counterpart. (Garrett pokes fun at her for it, hence the caption.)

Briar U hockey training

The August 28 post? Pure cinema. The core Off Campus guys underwent a two-week hockey boot camp before filming, and we got a little glimpse at the work they put in. Once again, Bright spoke for all of us in the comments: “Well damn.”

Hannah & Garrett first look stills

Entertainment Weekly shared the first in-depth preview of Off Campus on September 4, with exclusive photos and an interview with creator and co-showrunner Louisa Levy. The major takeaway — other that Bright and Cameli look adorable as Hannah and Garrett — was that it would be as mature and sex-positive as the book.

“It’s this really deep romance that also has nuances of exploring who you are in the bedroom,” Levy said. “There’s really lovely elements to who you want to be as a human that gets reflected in the steamy sex scenes that we have coming up this season.”

The showrunner also added that the adaptation won’t look exactly like The Deal. “So there are some moments that I’m sure the fans will be very excited to see that we are not able to dramatize or find a way to do that to the full length,” she explained. “But we really are going to honor the book and do our best to honor the characters and be true to them and also do our best to include as many Easter eggs as possible of both plot points and moments from the book.”

Justin takes the stage

Justin (Josh Heuston) is in the house! In the book, Hannah agrees to fake date Garrett to get the attention of her crush, Justin. In the book, he’s a football player, but the show revealed that he’ll be a musician (like Hannah) instead. In Off Campus‘ September 11 post, we don’t get to hear Heuston’s singing voice, but we’ll take the win of seeing him play the guitar.

The guys take a hockey slang quiz

Ever wondered what “lip lettuce” and “muffin” mean in the context of hockey? September 18’s Off Campus tease will tell you. The four main guys are quizzed on their hockey knowledge in the video. They ask Kalyn not to answer first — he’s the only one of them who has hockey experience. Per Teen Vogue, the Dean actor has played hockey all his life, while Cipriano had only skated recreationally, and Cameli and Brooks had never stepped foot on the ice before filming. (Still, Cameli won the game, in true Garrett Graham fashion.)

Elle Kennedy meets Garrett Graham (and reveals the Briar U hockey roster)

When Kennedy visited the set, she didn’t just post a selfie with Cameli — she also revealed the Briar Hawks Team Roster. Several notable Briar U hockey players from the books, like Colin “Fitzy” Fitzgerald and Hunter Davenport, aren’t on it. (They eventually become main characters in Kennedy’s spinoff books The Chase and The Play. Levy later told Teen Vogue that “just because [a character’s] not in the show yet doesn’t mean that we don’t have plans for them in the future.”)

What’s more, the roster revealed another major shakeup: Dean is aged up to a senior, while Tucker is aged down to a sophomore. “[Tucker is] the oldest in the books, and he’s the youngest in our series,” Levy told Teen Vogue. “That’s just because his [story] is the fourth book, and we want to make sure he’s still in college by the time we get there. We don’t want to be forced to overlap timelines in the same way if that doesn’t make sense for us. We want to keep driving the story forward, and we don’t want to be limited in that regard.”

Allie Hayes first look

Hello, Allie Hayes! On October 2, we were graced with our first look at Hannah’s roommate and BFF, drama major Allie. (Warning: The below contains spoilers for The Score by Elle Kennedy.) Allie isn’t just a supporting character in Kennedy’s universe… The spunky aspiring actress gets her own romance when she falls for Dean, which Kalyn referenced in the comments section. “Well well Wellsy who’s ur friend,” he wrote.

Off Campus… the Musical

When Swooon did a deep dive into the cast, we discovered that Cipriano has quite the musical background. He made his Broadway debut in Jagged Little Pill in 2019, and he’s released a few singles, too. He showed off his pipes and got Kalyn and Brooks singing while training. “Gotta get the boys in shape for that off campus musical episode,” he wrote in the comments on October 9. (Could Off Campus find a way to make Logan sing? We’ll see.)

Ella Bright solves a Rubix’s Cube

This one didn’t really give us any insight into the adaptation, but it does give us some idea of Bright and Cameli’s chemistry.

Tucker’s famous pink apron makes its debut

Early on as The Deal, we find out that Tucker is the mother hen of the group, constantly cooking for his roommates. His roommates, as a result, gifted him a frilly apron that he wears with pride. It looks like the famous garment will be making an appearance in the show, based on the post the show made in honor of International Chef’s Day. What’s more, we also got a little glimpse of the guys’ house, so it’s a double win.

Hannah’s famous lasagna makes an appearance

Another look at the house! “First one to mention hockey buys the next round at Malone’s,” reads the caption of the October 23 video. It hints at a cute book moment, too: The guys appear to be eating Hannah’s lasagna. While the guys are out, she puts the guys’ kitchen to use, wowing them with her Nana’s recipe.

Hockey gear race

Cameli may claim to be the fastest on the ice out of all of his costars, but he came in last when they all raced to put their hockey gear on. In the comments section, a number of fans remarked on how much the actors take after their characters — and we have to agree.

Dean steals Tucker’s apron

A week after revealing 18 new cast members had joined the production, Off Campus let Kalyn live out his dream. When the actor commented on a post saying he wanted to walk around naked in Tucker’s apron, the Off Campus account posted a video of him doing exactly that. Was that all Kalyn, or will we see Dean actually wear the famous apron (and nothing else) in the show? Only time will tell.

The guys tap that… glass

This tease also doesn’t reveal much about Season 1, but it does give us an idea of what the guys will look like in Briar U’s hockey arena.

The Off Campus cast calls to say goodnight

Even though the November 27 post wasn’t a sneak peek, it gave us high hopes for the cast’s onscreen chemistry.

When Off Campus Thursdays briefly resumed on February 12, they came in hot. First came the poster and early Season 2 renewal — more on that here — and about a month later, the teaser and release date dropped. Shortly thereafter, Prime Video promised more Off Campus weekly, so check back for more!
