For those who haven’t caught up with 90 Day Fiancé star Kimberly Menzies since her time on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, buckle up!
At the start of her journey on 90 Day: The Single Life Season 5, Kim revealed a major bombshell: Jamal, who fans have fallen in love with throughout Before the 90 Days and their time on Pillow Talk, isn’t her only child. She explained, “I’ve been carrying a really big secret for about 30 years. Jamal is not my only child.” Apparently, the 90 Day star has a daughter and a son, whom she put up for adoption separately before Jamal was born.
Now that fans have gotten to know her son Larry, who recently reentered her life, Kim is desperately trying to track down her daughter. During Monday night’s episode of The Single Life, Kim received her first clue about her daughter’s childhood.
“I reached out to the adoption agency like we all agreed upon to try to find her,” she told her sons. “They sent me a letter.” The letter, which was written years ago by her daughter’s adoptive mother, was 10 pages long. Kim revealed, “When the adoption agency told me they had a letter about my daughter from when she was six years old, I was stunned.”

Dated November 26, 1998, the letter read, “To the birth mother of our beloved daughter R. She came home with us in January of ’93. She was then, and has continued to this day to be, a healthy and happy child.” The letter continued to share that Kim’s biological daughter, whom they referred to as R, was incredibly verbal. The shared, “R’s vocabulary is tremendous; her thoughts and desires at a level beyond her six years.”
While Kim did not share the full letter with viewers, she was able to capture glimpses of her daughter’s life, including the fact that she went to private school, loved pasta (Kim mentioned she is Italian), and grew up with a vegetable garden in her backyard.
Learning more about her daughter, Kim shared, “The decision to place my children up for adoption was the most heartbreaking decision I’ve ever had to make in my whole life.” However, finding out that Larry and “R” had wonderful childhoods allowed her to confess, “Now, 34 years later, I can honestly say I’m at peace. I feel like I did what was best for my children. And really, at the end of the day, that’s all that matters to me.”
