Power up those tractors and grab your bug spray because Farmer Wants a Wife is back. The fan-favorite reality dating series returns for Season 4 on April 21, and host Kimberly Williams-Paisley is more than ready to watch the love stories unfold. This season, the show will only be focusing on three farmers: Sean Cavanaugh, Braden Pridemore, and Brett Maverick.
Ahead of the Season 4 premiere, Williams-Paisley spoke with Swooon about what to expect from Sean, Braden, and Brett as they search for love. “First of all, I’m thrilled that they’re doing just three farmers this year. I think that’s really awesome because it gives everybody a chance to really get to know the farmers and the ladies and all of the different storylines that develop,” Williams-Paisley said.
The three farmers are in very different stages of their lives — Sean is 22, Braden is 26, and Brett is 35. The host opened up about the wide age range between the new leads. “I think it’s great to have an older farmer, and then it’s great to have one who’s 22. Although that was shocking for me because my oldest son is 19,” Williams-Paisley told Swooon. “And I was like, oh, my gosh, he’s only a few years older than my son. So I thought that was wild. All of these farmers have been finding love, and sparks are flying.”

Naturally, there will be some shakeups on the farms over the course of Season 4. “There’s some twists that none of us saw coming, but then there’s also, like, real romance,” she noted.
Farmer Wants a Wife remains the most successful dating show. The global franchise has led to over 200 marriages and more than 500 children. Swooon asked Williams-Paisley why Farmer Wants a Wife stands apart from other reality dating shows. “I do think that there is a realistic expectation that, at the end of six weeks, you don’t have to get married,” she explained. “There’s not some huge reveal that’s going to pull the rug out from under you. What I saw in the farmers and in the women and in the producers is that they’re really trying to match. They’re not trying to create a whole lot of drama.”
She added, “They really are trying to find partners for these people who want to find love.”
