Are ‘American Idol’s Brooks & Rae Still Together? The Latest on Their Romance
Season 24 of American Idol was filled with great performances, but just as memorable was the reveal that contestants Brooks Rosser and Rae Boyd are dating. The news broke the week after Rae’s elimination when she returned to the stage to surprise Brooks and confirm their relationship.

Are Brooks and Rae still together?
Yes, Brooks and Rae are still together. After Brooks’ April 27 elimination, he flew back home to Maryland, where he and Rae are both from, and they’ve been spending time together in the week since.
Not only did the couple share photos from a night out together on Instagram, but they also posted a new duet video on social media on May 4. In the clip, they sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley.

Brooks also confirmed on the April 27 episode of American Idol that he and Rae are using the “L word.”
How did Brooks and Rae meet?
Brooks and Rae met during American Idol auditions in Nashville in the fall of 2025.
“We were on the same audition day, so we were fast friends,” Rae told Swooon. “We got really close very, very fast. We live very close to each other. So that’s kind of how it all started. There was a lot of time between then and the Live Shows [on March 30].”
The couple started spending time together in Maryland between American Idol rounds, which is how the romance blossomed. Ahead of their public debut on April 20, they already had fans buzzing about their relationship status with their social media activity.
