Titans and H2O: Just Add Water fans — and romance lovers in general — have likely already heard that Brenton Thwaites and Phoebe Tonkin will appear in a new rom-com series. Or maybe not, since Two Years Later is a Paramount+ Australia Original. Either way, Swooon is here to spread the news and confirm whether or not it’ll be available worldwide.
The series centers around two 30-somethings who reunite and start dating two years after the COVID-19 pandemic. The uber-romantic premise, which you can read more about below, is bound to pique viewers’ interest just as much as the two leads. So, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about Two Years Later below.
What is the release date for Two Years Later?
Two Years Later drops all eight episodes on June 4.
Will Two Years Later be available in the United States?
Here’s the catch: Two Years Later will only be available to Australia-based Paramount+ subscribers. The streamer hasn’t shared any plans to distribute the show globally, so those based in the U.S., like us, will have to hold out hope that it gets a wider release eventually.
Who is in the Two Years Later cast?
Aside from Thwaites and Tonkin, Heather Mitchell and Roy Billing star in the show. The show is written by Pete Bridges, who worked on the 2026 disaster movie Deep Water. Tracey Vieira, Tracey Robertson, and Nathan Mayfield produced Two Years Later under Hoodlum, which made A Perfect Pairing and Five Bedrooms. Emma Freeman, who’s behind Hulu’s Love Me, executive-produced and directed. Lucy Gaffy and Paige Rattray also have directing credits on Two Years Later.
What is Two Years Later about?
Two years ago, Ryan (Thwaites) and Emily (Tonkin) used to flirt on the bus on their way to work. Their interactions stop during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Ryan promises himself that he’ll ask Emily to marry him if he ever sees her again. He does exactly that, and Emily agrees to go on a series of eight dates with Ryan — the number of dates his grandparents went on before they got engaged — to decide if they’re each other’s forever.
