Season 1 of the hockey romance series includes its fair share of relationship drama — so much that even longtime scholars of Elle Kennedy’s college hockey romance books are bound to miss or forget a few things. That’s why we had Belmont Cameli, Ella Bright, Stephen Kalyn, Mika Abdalla, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks, and Josh Heuston recap all the most important points of the season when they visited the Swooon studio. We even made a visual aid to help them out.
That’s right: We went analog! We got our craft on and made a poster, charting all of the most important facts about the Briar U crew that we learned over the course of Season 1. The show covers the events of Kennedy’s The Deal, while incorporating plot points from other books (and some completely new ones). Hannah’s (Bright) love life is made complicated enough when she starts fake-dating Garrett (Cameli) to get the attention of her crush, Justin (Heuston). All the other friends in their orbit — including Dean (Kalyn) and Allie (Abdalla) — have their own side plots going on, too.
It’s a lot of ground to cover in just 20 minutes, let alone with the entire cast in one room, but try we did. Let’s just say — and you can judge this for yourself by watching the video at the top of the page — it was similar to a real-life study session with your college friends. We may have veered a little off topic — we found out which Shakespeare play should be featured in Off Campus Season 2, and who amongst the boys decided they should all live together. We also found out who’s the biggest yearner of the season. Honestly, we’re here for the chaos. It’s very Briar U!
