90 Day Fiancé star Nicole Sanders, a.k.a. Nikki Exotika, recently revealed a shocking health update on Instagram. On May 12, she revealed to her followers, “I suffered a minor heart attack,” and later shared that she needed triple bypass surgery. Now, her mom, Myrna, has taken over her social media to give fans updates on what’s going on with Nikki.
TLC viewers first met Nikki on Season 10 of 90 Day Fiancé. During the season, Nikki gave a romance 20 years in the making a try with Igor Shutencov, better known to fans as Justin Moldova. Ahead of the season, the network teased, “Justin and Nikki met on a dating site in Moldova, but grew distant when Justin revealed he couldn’t accept Nikki’s transsexual identity. Nearly two decades later, the couple is ready to give love a second try.” They have since broken up.

Did Nikki Exotika have a heart attack?
Yes, on May 12, Nikki posted on Instagram that she “suffered a minor heart attack,” which resulted in her heading to the emergency room. There, she was told that she needed to be transported to Hackensack Medical Center to have more extensive testing on her heart.

Why did Nikki Exotika need bypass surgery?
A day after her heart attack, Nikki posted a video update from her hospital bed after her procedure, revealing that they had to do an open-heart surgery, which is also called bypass surgery.
On May 19, Mama Myrna posted a video on Nikki’s Instagram page, telling her followers, “She underwent a serious operation yesterday of seven hours.” While she was supposed to have a triple bypass, she ended up needing a quadruple bypass. As she put it, “It was very serious… We were all extremely worried.” She also explained that she had started a GoFundMe page for Nikki.

Is Nikki Exotika in recovery?
As of May 21, we have not received another update on Nikki’s health. That said, Myrna has revealed that Nikki no longer needs support breathing. It is generally reported that it takes four to six weeks for an average person to recover from bypass surgery.
