Are ‘Love Island’ Host Ariana Madix & Boyfriend Daniel Wai Still Together?
Love Island USA is back for its eighth season on Peacock, and Ariana Madix has returned for her third season as host of the dating show. Three years ago, Madix’s own love life was headline news when she ended her nine-year relationship with Tom Sandoval after finding out he’d been cheating on her with Vanderpump Rules costar Raquel Weiss for months.
Following the scandal, it didn’t take long for Madix to move on. She started dating Daniel Wai shortly after her split from Sandoval.

Are Ariana Madix and Daniel Wai still together?
Yes, Madix and Wai are still together after three years of dating. Although they have a long-distance relationship (she’s based in Los Angeles, while he’s in New York City), they’ve managed to make it work.
In May, Wai celebrated his birthday with Madix by his side and documented the occasion in an Instagram post.
How did Ariana Madix and Daniel Wai meet?
Madix and Wai met in March 2023, the same month that she found out about Sandoval and Weiss’ affair. They first crossed paths at a mutual friend’s wedding in Mexico.

They wasted no time going public, packing on the PDA in social media photos while hanging out at Coachella the very next month.
“I met him at a wedding about ten days after all of this,” Madix said on the Today show in May 2023. “And in no way, shape, or form did I go into that thinking anything. I have just been taking things very, very slow, and really enjoying myself. And it’s just really lovely to interact with someone who is just so nice and kind and lovely and caring.”
Are Ariana Madix and Daniel Wai getting married?
Madix and Wai have not publicly shared plans to tie the knot, but she admitted in 2025 that she “sometimes” thinks about marrying him. Throughout Madix’s relationship with Sandoval, she consistently maintained that she didn’t feel the need to get married and was comfortable being in a long-term, committed relationship without the paperwork.
She eventually started coming around to the idea, though, but insisted that she doesn’t need the “whole fanfare” of a wedding. “It’s really more about the two people, so if it was just about us, you know, I honestly think I would be more open to it,” she admitted. “I just don’t want it to be like a big thing about having a giant wedding and a bachelorette party and all that bulls**t.”
Following the breakup from Sandoval, and after she’d already begun seeing Wai, she reiterated this sentiment in an interview with Glamour.
“I still wouldn’t want a wedding,” Madix confirmed. “For me, it’s about the marriage. There’s something about weddings, and the fanfare, and the bachelorette. I just don’t want any of that. And I think that’s a big part of it for me.”
