One of our favorite real-life soap couples is still going strong! Sweet Magnolias star and All My Children alum Justin Bruening and his wife, General Hospital star Alexa Havins Bruening, have been together for over 20 years, but they keep their relationship mostly out of the public eye.
The couple married in 2005 and now have four kids. As Justin celebrated the Season 5 premiere of his Netflix series, Sweet Magnolias (in which he plays Cal Maddox), he stepped out in Los Angeles to celebrate the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He brought along his wife, Alexa, and shared rare photos from their night out.
“A great night out to celebrate FIFA World Cup 2026 in Los Angeles #fifaworldcup #alexabruening,” he captioned his Instagram post. Justin and Alexa sweetly posed for photos on a pair of large soccer balls at the event. They cuddled close in one photo and held hands.

Justin and Alexa got to go inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum — while it was empty — and he shared an adorable selfie of him kissing Alexa on the head. Until now, Justin has only posted about Sweet Magnolias on Instagram, and Alexa does not have any public social media accounts, so these new photos of the couple are quite the treat.
The pair met and fell in love on the set of All My Children. They also played love interests on the soap! “Alexa and I look back at our lives, and we’re sort of like, ‘If I hadn’t taken that show, I would not have met you,’” Justin previously told Swooon.
Alexa currently plays Lulu Spencer on General Hospital, which films in Los Angeles. Swooon asked Justin whether or not he’d ever consider returning to the soap world and reuniting onscreen with his wife. “It’d be fun. I love working with my wife, so it’d be fun to pop on. We had a joke that I want to start showing up in just the background as just a random barista,” he said.
