All About HGTV Star Jonathan Knight’s Husband & Their Relationship
Following the cancellation of Farmhouse Fixer on HGTV, Jonathan Knight is back on the network to host Crashers. The show airs on Mondays and features the New Kids on the Block singer renovating unsuspecting homeowners’ spaces in just 72 hours.
Knight clearly has plenty to keep himself busy these days, but he also always makes sure to dedicate time to his relationship with husband Harley Rodriguez. The couple has been together since 2008 and tied the knot in 2022.

What does Jonathan Knight’s husband do for a living?
Rodriguez is an instructor at Barry’s in Boston. He and Knight moved to a farm in Massachusetts amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to creating his career in the fitness space, Rodriguez briefly worked as an actor. He appeared in one episode of Saved by the Bell: The New Class in 1997, and played Manny Lopez in Sweet Valley High from 1994 to 1997. His last acting role was in a 2001 episode of V.I.P.
How did Jonathan Knight meet his husband?
Knight and Rodriguez met through a mutual friend in 2008. The singer had been in a long day of rehearsals with NKOTB while preparing a comeback tour, and he met up with a friend to grab a drink afterwards. Rodriguez was also in attendance for the outing.
They didn’t start dating right away, though. “I knew the night I met you, you were the one for me… But yet I fought it and kept my heart protected,” Knight recalled in an Instagram post. “Months had passed since our initial meeting and I still felt a longing for you to be by my side!”

He continued, “Why am I fighting this man. He feels the same as me, and doesn’t give his heart away unless it’s real love. So I call him and say I miss you… come be with me while I start this crazy life with NKOTB again, and lets try love from a very long distance … weeks later you show up on tour, and the rest is history!”
Knight didn’t publicly come out until 2009, and at that point, he was already in a relationship with Rodriguez. “It wasn’t something I was hiding,” he explained. “I mean, I was with Harley. We’d be kissing in public, and it just was what it was. And then it was like, ‘No, you have to make a statement, you have to publicly clear the air.'”
Knight proposed to Rodriguez during a trip to Africa in 2016, and they had a small, intimate wedding in 2022.
Do Jonathan Knight and his husband have kids?
No, Knight and Rodriguez do not have children.
In a 2023 interview on Lance Bass‘ podcast, Knight revealed that he and Rodriguez had been trying to have a child for five years. “We tried it. We went through the journey for about five years, and it just didn’t happen for us,” he shared. “Going through the process, like, ‘Today’s the day the eggs are being [transferred],’ you’re so excited, and you’re so happy. And then, you know, a week later it’s like, ‘No, you’re you’re back to square one.'”
