After stepping away from tennis following the 2022 US Open, Serena Williams is making a comeback. The legendary athlete is returning to the court for the 2026 Wimbledon tournament and plays in her first match against Australia’s Maya Joint on June 30. She’ll also be playing doubles with her sister, Venus Williams, later this week.

Yes, Williams and Ohanian are still together. Although they have been the subject of fabricated and unsubstantiated divorce rumors in the past, which have seemingly stemmed out of nowhere, they are going strong as a couple.
Ohanian is supporting Williams amid her Wimbledon run. He was by her side while she trained on June 28 ahead of the tournament. The couple also attended a Met Gala pre-party together in May.

How many kids does Serena Williams have?
Williams and Ohanian are parents to two daughters. Their first daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., was born in September 2017. Williams was about two months pregnant with her when she played in the 2017 Australian Open earlier that year.
After stepping away from tennis in 2022, Williams gave birth to the pair’s second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August 2023.
How did Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian meet?
The couple had a meet-cute moment while they were both in Rome at the Cavalieri Hotel while eating breakfast in 2015. Williams was eating with a group of friends, and Ohanian sat down at the table next to them, despite there being other empty tables in the pool area, according to the athlete.
“This big guy comes and he just plops down at the table next to us, and I’m like, ‘Huh! All these tables and he’s sitting here?’” Williams recalled to Vanity Fair.
One of Williams’ friends tried to get Ohanian to move by claiming there was a rat by his table, but he didn’t budge. Williams then told him, “We just don’t want you sitting there. We’re going to use that table.” He pointed out that since he’s from Brooklyn, a rat wouldn’t faze him, at which point Williams acquiesced and just invited him to sit with her crew instead.
Williams was in town for the Italian Open, while Ohanian was speaking at a tech conference. When she asked him about it, he revealed his position as the head of Reddit, and she began asking him for advice about building her website and whether she should create an app of her own. She gave him her phone number so they could connect over similar tech questions in the future, but her friend took things a step further by inviting Ohanian to Williams’ match later that night.
When he showed up in their van afterwards, Williams was shocked, and invited him to dinner with their group afterwards. Williams then invited Ohanian to watch her play at the French Open, and they went on their first date in Paris before the tournament started. Ohanian proposed in December 2016.
