90 Day: The Last Resort star Shekinah Garner is addressing her future with the 90 Day Fiancé franchise and her explosive fight with Thaís Ramone.
During the most recent episode of 90 Day: The Last Resort Season 3, which aired on June 29, Shekinah got into an argument with Thaís over conversations between the cast about money. At the bar, Thaís told Kara Leona, “[Shekinah’s] trying to get people to fight,” before screaming, “Shut your mouth,” at Shekinah. The two then started pointing fingers at each other, leading Shekinah to appear to purposefully knock over a glass before Thaís tried to hit her.
Concluding the argument, Shekinah told Thaís, “Go back to your country, you suck,” which has caused major uproar from the other cast members who are all either immigrants or married to immigrants.
On July 1, Shekinah took to her Instagram Story, revealing that she asked producers to remove Thaís from the show. She wrote, “Tons of DMS of ppl asking why security didn’t step in and help me when I was being attacked. I would love to know this also. I was literally looking security right in the eyes as they SAT at the other end of the bench I was on, and you can hear me shouting at them, ‘get this b**** out of here.’ They didn’t move.”
After claiming that producers did not give security the cue to step in, Shekinah continued, “My theory is that producers wanted to appease the large ever-hating shekinah fans by letting me get my a** beat. They were going to LET IT HAPPEN.” According to Shekinah, she “refused” to film with Thaís after that moment, alleging that she’s “unpredictable, unhinged and violent.”
Shekinah alleged, “Our contracts state that physical altercations will get us removed from the show, so I asked for her to be removed. Producer told me it was at ‘his discretion’ and because Sarper [Güven] also got physical they would both have to be removed… or neither be removed.” She added, “I was fine with going home, I wanted to! Sarper and I had serious conversations about doing so. Ultimately I followed his lead and stayed but nothing was the same after this.”
Shekinah then confirmed that she will not be returning to the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. She claimed, “1. The show did not protect me. 2. they knew they were dealing with fragile marriages on the verge of divorce yet they put us on two shows [The Last Resort and Between the Sheets] that was so inappropriate and sexual. Not what I signed up for and I’m disgusted by all of it and regret my involvement.”
Seeing as Shekinah and Sarper could split at the end of the season, it is unclear at this time whether Sarper will continue with the franchise or leave with Shekinah. TLC has not commented on Shekinah’s statement.
