‘General Hospital’: The Sweet Role Ryan Paevey Had in Costar Rory Gibson’s Wedding
What To Know
- General Hospital actor Rory Gibson recently married his longtime girlfriend, Alicia Ruelas.
- Gibson and Ruelas met in high school.
- Gibson’s GH costar, Ryan Paevey, created a one-of-a-kind wedding gift for Gibson.
General Hospital star Rory Gibson is a married man! The actor, who plays Michael Corinthos on the ABC soap, wed his longtime love, Alicia Ruelas, on July 11 and then again on July 16.
The couple said “I do” after 15 years together in two ceremonies, first exchanging vows in Hawaii and then celebrating with a larger wedding in Los Angeles, according to People. Gibson’s GH costar, Ryan Paevey, played an important role in the ceremony.
Paevey made a custom wedding ring for Gibson that the groom used in his vow exchange with Ruelas in Hawaii. In addition to acting, Paevey makes handcrafted jewelry. He’s also the founder of Fortunate Wanderer, an outdoor adventure company.
Back in February, Paevey opened up about creating Gibson’s wedding band. The two met and became friends when Paevey returned to General Hospital as Cassius Faison in 2025. Gibson joined GH earlier that year as the new Michael Corinthos. Paevey recently left the soap, but his friendship with Gibson will last a lifetime.
“I was really touched and honored that Rory would ask me to make his wedding band,” Paevey said on Instagram. He created a “good, hearty, hammered band” for Gibson, who showed off the wedding band in Paevey’s video. “I was really honored to make it,” Paevey said.
“Of all the stuff I make, making things for people I know, friends…those are my favorite,” he captioned the post. Gibson commented, “You da man. Thank you brotha.”
Gibson and Ruelas first crossed paths in 2011 during spring break in Pismo Beach, California. They both attended the same high school. The soap star proposed to Ruelas on October 10, 2022, in Maui.
As they look ahead to the future, the couple is hoping to start a family. Gibson and Ruelas told People that they want to “keep on living the wonderful life we’ve built together… hopefully with a few kiddos in the near future.”
