Mark Ruffalo‘s son is making a name for himself in the family business. The 58-year-old actor’s eldest child, Keen Ruffalo, is one of the breakout stars of Prime Video’s YA drama Sterling Point.
The 25-year-old explained that Sterling Point got both of his parents’ approval. “If it’s anything but acting, my dad’s like, ‘That was amazing.’ When it comes to the actual work, he’s like, ‘It’s okay. He did alright.’ But they both liked it, and I trust their input,” Keen told Cultured.

Mark and Sunrise have three children: Keen, Bella, and Odette. Keen was born in 2001, and Bella in 2005. Odette completed their family in 2007.

Keen Ruffalo
Though he was 12 years old when he had his first feature film cameo — his dad’s movie Begin Again — Keen wasn’t raised in the entertainment industry. “Contrary to popular belief, I was actually raised on a farm and kept very far away from all of that,” he told Cultured. He also appeared in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok alongside his dad.
At 12, he had no interest in acting, telling the magazine that he was “dragged” to set back then. He went to Drexel University for fashion design at 18 years old, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed his goals. “It was like, ‘I need to figure out what I’m gonna do with my future. Acting makes my dad happy, maybe I’ll enjoy it,’” he said.
After dropping out of school, Keen studied acting at Stella Adler and HB Studio and did some theater productions over the course of three years. He did 100 auditions before he landed the feature film Nimrods and Sterling Point.
“My dad didn’t want to hand me or my siblings anything because it’s just not how he was raised,” he elaborated. “So I went to a couple of the major schools and studied different acting techniques. I’m a huge nerd when it comes to acting technique… And then [my dad] came and saw one of my plays one day, and he’s like, ‘All right, I think you’re ready to do this,’ after I’d studied for a year or two.”

Bella Ruffalo
Not quite as much is known about Bella, Mark’s middle child, though Bella has appeared at a number of events alongside family. Bella’s mom and dad have shared several heartfelt birthday messages. “We love you and are so proud of you. You have lived twice your age, and have done it style,” Sunrise wrote when Bella turned 18.
In his own post, Mark wrote, “Happy 18th birthday @belladogood. You live your life like a comet across the sky—burning bright and beautiful. Keep going kid. So proud of you and who you are as you begin your adulthood. Xoxo.” The next year, he said to Bella, “I admire your courage, strength, intellect, and grace. It’s been an amazing year full of so much growth and discovery.”
Odette Ruffalo
Odette, too, isn’t quite as public as her parents and brother. Like her siblings, Odette was raised in Callicoon, New York, which is located in upstate New York. There, her mom owns a home decor boutique called Callicoon Pop.
In 2024, Sunrise wrote on Instagram, “HBD Odette Moon. 17. You’ll alway be my baby. I love you to the moon and back.”
According to what seems to be Odette’s private Instagram account — her siblings and mother follow it — Odette is an art student at SUNY Purchase. She also tagged IMG Models in her bio.
