Maria Menounos Talks ‘Christmas at Plumhill Manor’ & Her Long-Lasting Love Story (VIDEO)
Inheriting an English countryside manor right around Christmas? Sounds like a dream! Well, that’s exactly what happens to Margot Stone (Maria Menounos) in the new Lifetime holiday movie Christmas at Plumhill Manor. When Margot heads across the pond to check out her inheritance, she winds up opening her heart in an unexpected romance.
“I always think that the modern woman right now can be a little reluctant when it comes to love because we’re so career-focused, so I thought that was an interesting theme. Love will get you when you’re not looking,” Menounos told Swooon. Her love interest is played by Kyle Pryor, and Menounos understands why Margot is drawn to him. “You see a hot, very fit man, it’s kind of hard to not be captured by him,” she quipped.
Christmas at Plumhill Manor is the first production for We Heart Holidays, a holiday movie production company founded by Menounos and her husband, Keven Undergaro. The actress is a self-professed “Christmas fanatic,” and she wants to continue making holiday movies in the future.
“The special thing about this that sets us apart from other holiday movies that you’ve seen and loved is that it is set in London, and the British actors are outstanding. They’re funny, they’re charismatic, they’re charming. It really whisks you away and takes you to another world, and we all want that during the holidays,” Menounos said.
The actress is also a romance expert. Menounos and her husband have been together for 27 years. “It’s really special, I think, to know that you’ve gone through the highs and lows with somebody,” she gushed.
Menounos has been with Undergaro since she was 19 years old, and she’s proud to follow in her parents’ footsteps in creating a strong partnership. “I watched my parents be a team, and Kevin and I are a team,” she said. “There is a lot built up over what it’s supposed to look like. I think that we need to kind of shed that and just go with what feels right for you and whoever you’re with. And that’s it. Whatever is right for you is what’s right because I think a lot of people are chasing something that’s not even right for them.”
