Brett Goldstein is making is swooon in his new Netflix rom-com Office Romance, which he stars in alongside Jennifer Lopez. Goldstein wrote the film and penned the leading lady role with Lopez in mind after years of being a “huge fan” and admiring her from afar.
While Lopez’s romantic history has been plastered across headlines for more than two decades now (most recently, she split from her fourth husband, Ben Affleck, in 2024), less is known about Goldstein’s love life.

No, Goldstein does not appear to currently have a girlfriend. For the most part, he keeps his personal life out of the public eye as much as possible.
“I’m the luckiest man in the world, and I’m doing exactly what I want to, [but] I’m also a very private person, and it’s complicated,” Goldstein previously told In Style.
Who did Brett Goldstein date?
Goldstein previously dated Beth Rylance, an actress and comedienne. While it’s unclear exactly when they started dating, Goldstein confirmed their relationship in his acceptance speech for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2021 Emmy Awards.
In his Roy Kent-inspired, expletive-filled speech, Goldstein made sure to shout-out some important people in his life, including his parents and Beth, after which he added, “I love you.”
In a now-deleted tweet, Rylance reacted to Goldstein’s Emmys appearance, writing, “Today is the day that my boyfriend goes to the Emmy’s as a Best Supporting Actor nominee and I am at home on my second load of laundry.” She jokingly added, “Just to confirm, my boyfriend is Kenan Thompson off of SNL.”
The two quietly ended their relationship at some point in 2021.
Are Brett Goldstein and Jennifer Lopez dating?
No, Goldstein and Lopez are not a couple in real life, although their chemistry in Office Romance is off the charts. During a recent appearance on the Today show, Lopez confirmed that she and her costar are “not dating,” while also noting, “There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person.”

A source told Page Six that Goldstein and Lopez’s chemistry was “undeniable” while filming the Netflix movie. The insider alleged that Goldstein and Lopez got “cozy” at the Office Romance wrap party and then “dated for quite some time” in 2025 after production concluded.
However, according to the outlet, things eventually “fizzled out” between the two, who reportedly felt they were “better off as friends.” Lopez and Goldstein have not commented on this report.
