Season 4 of Fox’s Farmer Wants a Wife resulted in more than just three couples.
Brett Maverick, Braden Pridemore, and Sean Cavanaugh picked which of their final two contestants they wanted to date during the show’s Season 4 finale on Tuesday, June 9. While exclusively chatting with Swooon ahead of the episode, Sean and his winner, Emily, revealed that their involvement with the show helped spark a surprising off-camera romance.
“There is one girl I kind of talk to that [was on] our farm. Her name is Alibeth. She was one of the girls on my farm, and she’s now actually dating Emily’s brother,” Sean shared. “And so, we all hang out together in a friend group.”
Emily added, “It was funny ’cause when they said goodbye, they were like, ‘Alright. We didn’t have a connection, but I hope we can be friends.’ And so, we laugh now. We’re like, ‘Well, y’all are friends. We’re actually all a family.'”
Alibeth was one of the five women Sean invited back to his farm during the Season 4 premiere. Though the two formed a sweet connection, Sean ultimately decided to send her home during the cast’s race track group date in Episode 4.
Earlier this month, Alibeth debuted her relationship with Emily’s brother, Nate, via Instagram. “Production didn’t script this plot twist,” she captioned a slideshow of photos of the two. Underneath the post, Emily commented, “Sister wife to sister IN LAW.”

Alibeth’s relationship isn’t the only surprising connection that the Season 4 cast formed. “We have a lot of friends. Even Nicolette, who I sent home Night 1, we’re really good friends with her,” Braden told Swooon, referring to one of his early contestants. “We’re all friends with all the picks and everything, so we made a lot of friends through the process.”
Brett, for his part, revealed that he and his winner, Quinn, are still close with his runner-up, Hanna. “Still today, Quinn and Hanna are best friends, and we were on a three-way FaceTime at least twice a week together. So, we’re all super tight, all super close, we’re best friends,” he gushed.
Sean, on the other hand, said he has only “briefly” spoken to his other contestants post-filming, adding, “I just personally think that would be kind of weird. But yeah, I wish all of them the best.”
Emily noted, “After the show wrapped, we sent a nice kind of message in a group chat, of just like, a thank you to everyone for being there. I know you appreciated getting to know everyone. And what I really appreciated was we actually saw [Sean’s runner-up] Carson after the finale, and I went to her room and said goodbye. And I feel like she just gave us the warmest kind of send-off and well-wishes, and I’ll always appreciate that from her. She’s a great person.”
In the finale, Braden shared an emotional goodbye with his runner-up, Brittney, before choosing Casey as his final pick. Unlike his fellow farmers, Braden says he has not spoken with Brittney since that moment.

“I did have a clear head going into that final day, and in the moment, it was extremely hard to do that to Brittney, just like any other goodbye, and I could see how upset she was,” he told Swooon. “And so, yeah. You don’t want to do that to anybody, and that was extremely hard, and I wish it went smoother. … I know she felt like I may have led her on, and she may have had a different idea than I did. But, you know, I do have a clear conscience, and I was completely honest with everybody. I’m not a very good liar, so I couldn’t do that, even if I wanted to.”
Casey, for her part, gushed about the close connection she and Braden have built with the other couples. “We went to one concert festival together, and we all just had a blast together. The girls get along great, the guys get along great, and we’re going to see them next week,” she said. “So, it’s going to be super fun to all be together again now, after the finale, so we can breathe a little bit and not be as nervous just to be out and about. So, it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
