‘Married at First Sight’: Are Adam & Marissa Still Together After Season 20?
What To Know
- Adam and Marissa have had a relatively smooth relationship on Married at First Sight Season 20 up to Episode 9.
- The couple avoided major conflicts and conversations until Episode 9.
- The pair will decide on Decision Day whether or not they want to stay together.
Though Adam Dehmlow and Marissa Meyer had one of the more memorable introductions in Married at First Sight Season 20 — they recognized each other at the altar — they’ve had one of the less rocky journeys compared to the other couples. Though, who’s to say if that will hold true in the second half of the season?
Just like all the other couples in Peacock’s reality series, Adam and Marissa will decide at the end of the experiment whether they want to stay married or not. During Episode 9’s group therapy session, they were one of three couples (out of seven) to reveal that they planned on saying “yes” on Decision Day. But as fans know, so much can change over the course of Married at First Sight.
Already there’s been chatter online about the fate of Adam and Melissa’s relationship — keep reading for everything we know. (Warning: Spoilers for Married at First Sight Season 20 ahead!)
What’s happened between Adam and Marissa in Married at First Sight Season 20?
Let’s hit the biggest points of 31-year-old data analyst Adam and 30-year-old program manager Marissa’s relationship up until Episode 9. Adam was introduced as an ultra-disciplined and active adrenaline junkie, and though she was more low-key, the experts thought Marissa, who described her love for the gym, skiing, and reading, would be a good match. They thought Marissa could “open Adam up.”
On their wedding day, it was revealed that Adam approached Marissa at a bar once, and that was the extent of their history. At their subsequent wedding reception, one of the standout moments was Adam performing a classical piano piece, which got a reaction out of plenty of viewers.
During their honeymoon, Adam and Marissa were one of the first couples to start being physically affectionate with each other. No arguments or serious conversations were had, at least based on what made it into the show’s final edit. Back in Seattle — where Adam gave Marissa a tour of his lakefront cabin, and she debated if she would live there long-term — Adam and Marissa appeared to carry on as they did during their honeymoon.
Expert Paul C. Brunson called Adam out for not taking the experiment seriously: He wore a wild outfit to the group dinner and walked into the expert group session with his shirt fully unbuttoned. Adam argued with Paul that he was just being himself. He didn’t feel comfortable enough to let his goofy side show earlier on. Paul had Marissa and Adam both discuss a serious topic — Marissa brought up her dad, who’s been absent from her life, and Adam his past relationships.
Though Marissa appreciated his opening up, she said in a confessional that she wished Adam had Cameron’s maturity. Viewers have yet to see if Adam and Marissa will get deep before the experiment’s over.
Are Married at First Sight’s Adam and Marissa still together?
If you’ve watched Married at First Sight before, you know that we have to watch along to find out who stayed together and who didn’t. Sometimes, the couples say “yes” on Decision Day, but we find out during the reunion, which is filmed about a year later, that they broke up.
We can also look to social media and rumors for clues, though they don’t confirm anything for certain. Adam and Marissa don’t currently follow each other on Instagram, and they haven’t interacted on social media either, as far as we can tell, while the season has been airing. @MAFSfan heard rumors that their relationship only lasted a few weeks.
