All the Times ‘Off Campus’ Star Stephen Kalyn & Victoria Lovatsis Made Us Swoon
Though Stephen Kalyn has been fielding questions about Dean and his tumultuous situationship with Allie (Mika Abdalla), the actor has also brought up his personal romance during Off Campus press.
Kalyn’s fiancée, Victoria Lovatsis, has been by his side throughout the show’s filming process and promo tour. Lovatsis has been supporting Kalyn since well before that, too. The couple has been together since 2012, according to Lovatsis’ Instagram. (Where, we might add, you’ll find quite a few photos of her and Kalyn.) That means Kalyn, who’s now 28, has been in a relationship with his bride-to-be since he was just 13 years old.
Naturally, Kalyn has had plenty of sweet things to say about Lovatsis while promoting his breakout Prime Video hit, which we’ve been making careful note of. One thing’s for sure: Kalyn and his Off Campus character are aligned on being down bad for the women in their lives.

She knew he was the perfect Dean
Kalyn recalled Lovastis encouraging him to pursue his Off Campus role in an interview with Pedestrian TV. “When they announced that the show was happening, she said, ‘You need to get Dean. You gotta get that part. That’s perfect for you,'” he said. “I’m like, ‘Be the playboy guy who gets all the girls. You sure?’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, You’re the guy. You got it.’ She’s been a huge player in motivating me to get there and get here right now.”
She motivated him to get the role
“From the moment I got the audition, I just felt like I knew this person. I was so confident in what I wanted to bring to this part,” Kalyn told Elite Daily, crediting Lovatsis for making sure that he knew Dean’s significance. “My fiancée read the books a long time ago, and her favorite character was Dean. So when they announced this show, she told me I had to audition. She said, ‘There’s no other option: You have to be Dean.'”
She's supported him on set before
Off Campus press isn’t the first instance of Kalyn bringing up his longtime partner in interviews. While promoting his movie Cascade in 2024, he shared his appreciation for Lovatsis joining him on set. It was a seven-and-a-half-hour drive from their home, and she stayed there with him a few weeks before driving back solo. “I’m like, ‘Thank you for supporting me and coming out here,'” the actor told Entertainment Roadmap. “She’s a trooper.”
Her approval of Dean is all he needs
“I knew [Off Campus] was popular through Victoria. She read these books a long time ago, and her favorite book was The Score,” Kalyn told The Hollywood Reporter. “She actually made a comment on Goodreads years ago. She wrote something like ‘Lean, mean and all about Dean. She just loved Dean. What a privilege it is to step into those shoes. Not only do I get to fulfill [the role of Dean] for the fans, but more importantly for my fiancée.”
Kalyn added that Lovatsis thinks that he nailed the character. “Only approval I needed,” he said.
He hypes her up on social media
Kalyn has been known to drop a supportive comment underneath his fiancée’s Instagram posts. Some of his greatest hits include: “Smokinggggggggggggg,” “Wow ur too cool for me,” “Why do I feel so tingly inside,” and (last but not least) “GORGEOUS DARLING.”
